With 2 weeks to go until I return to camp, I've been thinking a lot about the summer ahead, and about the previous summer I spent in America. After looking through some photos from last year, I thought I'd write a little about my 3 favourite places at camp!
The Waterfront

Most camps have a large lake which is central to many activities. The first time I visited the waterfront I was blown away by the size of the lake and the beauty of it. If I had the chance to be at the lake during sunset or sunrise I would take it, it was stunning to watch.
The Great Lawn
At camp, we had an open space outside our main dining hall (the Great Hall) which we often used for games. One of my favourite things about the Great Lawn was that after dinner one group would often start a spontaneous game, with most groups joining in. We played all staff games out here during training and would meet here before the kids arrived each session. I love the space as it gives a stunning view of the forest, and I have many memories associated with spending time here.
My Small Camp
Every counselors cabin/tent/camp site becomes their home for the duration of their time at camp. My Small Camp (the campsite I stayed in) was no exception. I stayed in four different small camps during my time at camp and I adored each one. At first, sleeping outside in tents was a challenge, but towards the end of camp the thought of sleeping inside began to feel strange! Camp truly is a summer home, make the most of your time there and appreciate every moment.
Until next time,
Lucy X
